Qualifications

• 1 year of purchasing experience in lieu of a degree.
• Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar procurement role within the electrical or construction industries.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Vendor selection: identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate terms and establish relationships.
• Purchasing: place orders for electrical materials, equipment and supplies to meet project needs.
• Inventory management: track inventory levels and replenish to prevent shortages.
• Cost control: monitor pricing trends and implement cost-saving strategies.
• Quality assurance: coordinate with QA to meet standards and specs.
• Documentation: maintain purchase orders, invoices, and vendor contracts.
• Communication: collaborate with project managers, engineers and team members.
