Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred; or 10 years purchasing experience in lieu of a degree.
• Proven experience as Purchasing Agent or in procurement within electrical/construction industries.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Vendor selection: identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate terms, and establish relationships for reliable, cost-effective sources.
• Purchasing: place orders for electrical materials, equipment, and supplies to meet project requirements while optimizing cost.
• Inventory management: maintain accurate records, track usage, replenish stock to prevent shortages and reduce excess inventory.
• Cost control: monitor pricing trends, negotiate favorable terms, implement cost-saving strategies.
• Quality assurance: collaborate with QA to ensure purchased materials meet standards and specs.
• Documentation: maintain detailed procurement records including POs, invoices, and vendor contracts.
• Communication: work with PMs, engineers, and team members to coordinate procurement efforts.
