Job summary

Moss Construction (NI) Ltd is seeking a Buyer I in Fort Lauderdale, FL to support procurement of electrical materials and ensure material availability for projects. You will create POs, obtain quotes, and coordinate with project teams, operations, and warehouse staff under supervision.

Ideal candidates have 0–2 years in procurement, exposure to ERP systems, and a foundational knack for data accuracy and supplier communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 0–2 years of procurement experience; construction/manufacturing/energy sectors preferred.
• Exposure to supplier interaction and procurement workflows preferred.
• Experience with ERP or purchasing systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day purchasing activities for assigned materials, including creating POs, confirmations, and tracking delivery status.
• Assist supplier quotes organization for recurring, commodity, and project-based purchases.
• Review purchase requisitions for completeness and obtain clarifications as needed.
• Perform basic comparisons of supplier quotes and provide summaries to Buyer II or the Purchasing and Operations Manager.
• Maintain regular communication with project teams, operations, and warehouse staff to support material availability.
• Monitor inventory levels and prepare replenishment POs under the direction of more senior buyers.
• Assist in resolving routine delivery, quality, or invoice discrepancies with suppliers and AP.
• Ensure ERP data accuracy by entering pricing, lead times, supplier info, and PO details.
• Adhere to purchasing policies, approval limits, and compliance requirements.
• Support cost-reduction and spend visibility initiatives by identifying issues and assisting with reports.
• Build professional relationships with suppliers in line with Moss’ values.
• Participate in training to build knowledge of electrical and solar materials and Moss’ processes.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
