Job summary

POWERX in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Technical Instructor to design, develop, and deliver high‑quality training programs for electrical power systems, protection and control, and relay testing in substations, data centers, and industrial facilities.

You will travel to customer sites and internal facilities, deliver hands‑on and virtual sessions, assess learner competency, and collaborate with subject‑matter experts to expand the curriculum while maintaining safety and NFPA 70E compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7–10 years hands-on experience in electrical power systems.
• Experience with substation apparatus testing and relay configuration.
• Proficient in NFPA 70E, NETA standards, OSHA safety practices.
• Ability to develop engaging curricula and lesson plans.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and e-learning platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver technical training programs focused on electrical power systems and protection and control.
• Travel to customer sites and internal facilities to deliver hands-on, classroom, and blended learning.
• Facilitate classroom and virtual instructor-led sessions; assess participant competency and provide feedback.
• Collaborate with the VP of Workforce, instructional design team, and SMEs to evolve curriculum.
• Engage with equipment manufacturers and industry organizations for updates and partnerships.
• Maintain training records, schedule logistics, and report activities to leadership.
