Job summary

Briggs & Stratton Application Engineers act as the liaison for technical information between Briggs & Stratton and OEM customers. They test and evaluate customers’ equipment to ensure the electric power system is properly applied, troubleshoot, and provide direction to technicians performing setup and testing.

The role focuses on electric power source systems including lithium battery, BMS, motor, motor controller, vehicle controller, and related components.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • Minimum three years of professional engineering experience.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Knowledge of battery technologies and power systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical liaison providing electric power system information to Briggs & Stratton OEM customers and internal divisions.
  • Conduct electric power system installation reviews and recommend modifications to equipment.
  • Guide technicians performing power system setup and testing.
  • Specify system and component level requirements and tune controllers for the power system.
  • Support and develop test platforms for evaluation of products, including remote data acquisition.
  • Use root cause analysis to resolve customer concerns.
  • Represent the Application Engineering Department on new product development teams.
  • Organize information exchange meetings and technical reports with OEM customers and partners.
