Job summary

Baird, Hampton & Brown is seeking a full-time Electrical Engineer, PE to design power, lighting, and signal systems for commercial projects across schools, retail, industrial and healthcare sectors. You will supervise small to mid-sized lighting and power projects with a team of licensed engineers and EITs.

Responsibilities include photometric analyses, software-based electrical calculations, and review of construction documents to ensure code compliance and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree required.
• Minimum three years of PE experience in electrical building design.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical distribution from utility to panels and loads.
• Perform site visits to document existing systems.
• Select lighting fixtures and controls to meet energy codes.
• Prepare drawings and specs for installation and operation.
• Create construction documents using AutoCAD and REVIT.
• Perform photometric studies with AGI-32.
• Run voltage drop, short circuit, and arc-flash calculations with SKM.
• Coordinate meetings with clients, officials, and staff.
• Develop construction budgets and estimate costs.
• Oversee project production to meet schedule and budget.
• Review construction documents with the Engineer of Record.
