The Electrical PDC Estimator is responsible for evaluating and preparing cost estimates for electrical

power distribution centers, including switchgear, MCCs, panelboards, and integrated power systems. The

role involves analyzing specifications, drawings, and technical documents to develop accurate proposals

that align with client requirements and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

o Analyze RFPs, specifications, and electrical drawings for PDC systems.

o Identify scope of work, materials, labor, and subcontract requirements.

o Perform detailed material and labor take-offs from drawings.

o Utilize estimating software and spreadsheets to calculate costs.

o Apply markups for overhead, profit, and contingencies.

o Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes for components such as breakers,

enclosures, relays, and custom assemblies.

o Coordinate with suppliers to ensure lead times and pricing are current and competitive.

o Compile comprehensive bid packages including technical clarifications, pricing

breakdowns, and schedules.

o Prepare and review Bill of Materials (BOM) and pricing summaries.

o Communicate with clients to clarify scope, answer pre-bid questions, and support sales

and project management during bid reviews.

o Work closely with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure

alignment on design intent and cost assumptions.

o Maintain organized estimate files and records.

o Support project handoff to the execution team with clear cost and scope documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of electrical power distribution equipment and systems.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and one-line diagrams.

• Experience with estimating tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Excel).

• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Prior experience in electrical manufacturing, EPC, or industrial electrical estimating.
