Job summary

Fareva in Richmond, VA is seeking an Electrical Operations Mechanic I to maintain high-tech automated equipment and drive improvements through electrical/PLC tech. You’ll handle electronics, electrical control, hydraulics, and basic mechanical tasks in a GMP-regulated environment.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, encoders, and electrical schematics, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring safety standards. Strong communication and attention to detail required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Virginia State Journeyman card or NEC training.
• Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical/electrical principles.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and troubleshoots filling/packaging equipment electromechanically.
• Supports PLCs, operator interfaces, VFDs, servomotors, encoders.
• Performs basic electrical troubleshooting (starters, fuses, relays).
• Performs preventative maintenance on electrical/safety systems.
• Reads electrical drawings and traces circuits to locate issues.
• Communicates problems and solutions to teams and supervisors.
• Uses downtime/OEE data to design improvements.
• Maintains safe, clean work area and follows cGMP/Safety rules.
