We’re hiring an Electrical/Mechanical Technician to join our Reactor & BOP Inspection Tooling team. This is a full-time (5 days per week) on-site position at our Madison, PA (Waltz Mill) facility.
Your Day to Day:
- Provide field services at nuclear power plant sites, either operating or under construction, and support service center operations, utilizing high-tech service equipment, reflecting Westinghouse’s commitment to safety and quality.
- Support service center functions including equipment maintenance, checkout, decontamination, packing/unpacking, shipment prep, material handling, and calibration. Review operational and maintenance procedures and drawings.
- Understand blueprints, layouts, sketches, and work orders to assess equipment specifications and determine tooling instructions, tools, materials, and sequences of operations.
- Support product engineering and training through activities like equipment modifications, setup, testing, mock-up prep, process testing, and qualifications. Document equipment performance issues and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Participate in training programs to maintain certifications and stay updated with technology.
- Engage in safety training to perform work safely in hazardous environments, operating safety equipment and systems.
- Learn and practice Human Performance Tools, INPO Principles, Industrial Health & Safety, ALARA principles, security requirements, and observe license requirements. Contribute observations in the shop and understand Nuclear Culture Safety requirements.
- Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot field service equipment at customer sites, including cleaning processes, NDE technology, robotic systems, and networks.
- Perform tasks under supervision, ensuring quality and adherence to procedures. Maintain attention to detail and document quality issues.
- Develop team-building skills, demonstrate customer service sensitivity, and focus on creative problem-solving.
- This role involves extensive travel, maintaining “Unescorted Access” status, and working with hazardous materials.
Who You Are:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent required.
- 0-3 years of related experience, with demonstrated mechanical, networking, or electronic aptitude preferred.
- Ability to travel extensively during spring and fall for extended periods.
