Job summary

First Solar is seeking an on-site Maintenance Technician to support installation, qualification and ongoing service of manufacturing equipment in Perrysburg, Ohio. You will troubleshoot day-to-day issues, perform planned maintenance and help with process improvements.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and relevant technical experience, with options including an Associate degree or two years of machine or mechanics experience. EMT experience with rating 5+ is advantageous.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree in a technical discipline or two+ years machine/mechanic experience qualify.
• One year First Solar technical experience acceptable.
• Six months EMT as Associate EMT at First Solar with rating 5+ acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Solves day-to-day production, equipment, and process problems.
• Performs on-site service and repair of equipment.
• Identifies and implements yield and product performance improvements.
• Accomplishes daily assignments as scheduled and directed.
• Develops methods to assign causes to yield excursions.
• Sets up and maintains gauges.
• Ensures all processes run on target per the Process Control Plan.
• Responds to SPC process control alarms and returns processes to control.
• Executes planned process experiments, collects data and reports results.
• Collects data on daily tool performance and product performance.
• Transitions new equipment and processes through start-up, qualification, and implementation.
• Provides training to production associates.
• Develops/updates internal docs including drawings, SOPs, and process specs.
• Interfaces with internal and supplier personnel to complete projects.
• Maintains understanding of area processes, equipment, and support systems.
• Maintains effective communication within the manufacturing team.
• Disposes non-conforming product per criteria (NCP).
• Adheres to safety and housekeeping standards.
