Job summary

New Flyer in Crookston, MN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support assigned manufacturing cells, drive lean initiatives, and coordinate ECNs.

Responsibilities include developing standard work, updating layouts, planning capital upgrades, conducting contract reviews, and training staff.

The role requires a four-year engineering degree, experience with mobile electrical systems, lean certification, and strong Excel/MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year Manufacturing/Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology degree.
• Experience with mobile electrical/electronic is highly desired.
• Lean certification or equivalent experience is beneficial.
• Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with Excel, Microsoft Suite, PLC or Ladder Logic and electrical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Provide manufacturing engineering support within assigned cells.
• Work as a cell team member to achieve operational metrics and drive remedial actions.
• Maintain and update cell engineering task logs and layouts.
• Review ECNs and support production implementation in assigned cells.
• Create standard work instructions and train personnel on standards.
• Update facility and cell layouts, inventory, and safety maps.
• Facilitate lean initiatives (5S, value stream mapping, setup reduction).
• Lead or participate in cross-functional SWAT and problem-solving meetings.
