Job Summary

An Electrical Manufacturing Engineer is needed for a major U.S. defense contractor and industrial corporation with core manufacturing concentrations in weapons and military and commercial electronics in the Windsor Locks, CT area. This role is responsible for developing and improving electrical manufacturing processes, documentation, and tooling to support high-quality hardware production, failure resolution, and cost-effective, compliant operations in life support and thermal control applications.

An Electrical Manufacturing Engineer is needed for a major U.S. defense contractor and industrial corporation with core manufacturing concentrations in weapons and military and commercial electronics in the Windsor Locks, CT area. This role is responsible for developing and improving electrical manufacturing processes, documentation, and tooling to support high-quality hardware production, failure resolution, and cost-effective, compliant operations in life support and thermal control applications.

location: Windsor Locks, Connecticut

salary: $36.50 - 42.50 per hour

work hours: 8am to 5pm

education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

  • Develop and define electrical manufacturing methods for hardware used in life support and thermal control systems.
  • Create manufacturing assembly documentation, conceptual tooling, and provide technical support to both internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Support failure investigations, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions for non-conforming hardware.
  • Develop and manage the sequence of complex operations, including fabrication, assembly, disassembly, and repair processes.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) regulations and quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product quality, reduce costs, and optimize manufacturing efficiency and productivity.
  • Perform cost estimations, develop schedules, and write manufacturing procedures and policies.
  • Review design drawings and engineering concepts to assess manufacturability and recommend technological improvements.
  • Actively participate in integrated product development teams, contributing to design and process improvements.
  • Present updates and findings to senior management.

Skills

  • Lead or contribute to initiatives such as ACE (Achieving Competitive Excellence), Process Certification, Manufacturing Process Reviews, Lean Manufacturing, and EH&S projects.
  • Exhibit strong teamwork, positive attitude, and clear communication within multi-disciplinary teams and leadership.
  • Familiarity with a modeling and/or design package such as Creo is desired. Background courses in electrical design and/or manufacturing.
