Job summary

Silgan Plastics in Connecticut seeks a licensed electrician for routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and quick restoration of manufacturing equipment. You will diagnose electrical issues, read schematics, and follow GMP and safety procedures to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 3+ years of electrical maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Licensed electrician or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Familiarity with CMMS is a plus.
• Commitment to safety, GMP, and housekeeping.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems and machinery per safety, GMP, and housekeeping rules.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues including motors, drives, sensors, and controls.
• Install wiring, panels, switches, and other components per code and policy.
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to support production.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to boost reliability and reduce downtime.
• Read schematics, manuals, and diagrams; document maintenance activities.
• Follow LOTO, Arc Flash, PPE, and safety procedures.
• Participate in audits and inspections for GMP compliance.
• Collaborate with teams on process improvements and upgrades.
• Train operators on safe equipment use and basic troubleshooting.
