Job summary

Silgan Containers is seeking a maintenance technician to diagnose and repair industrial equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and manage spare parts inventory. The role requires reading schematics, basic welding, and strong problem-solving skills.

You will work with hand tools, read PLC/I-O diagrams, and ensure compliance with GMP and safety standards while maintaining CMMS records.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds continuously throughout the shift.
• Must maintain safety and quality standards.
• Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics, PLC programs, and I/O diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Examine machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble and perform repairs using hand tools.
• Dismantle or partially dismantle machines and replace defective parts from stock; reassemble and adjust for operation.
• Perform preventive maintenance without supervision.
• Repair machinery and assist in maintaining repair parts inventory.
• Maintain CMMS records in line with QMS and ISO/FDA standards.
• Troubleshoot and repair molding machines, grinders, augers, pumps, and gearboxes.
