Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Houston's Extrusion Plant is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform electrical maintenance tasks and provide SME expertise across repair, modification, and operation of plant systems.

The role requires troubleshooting electrical systems, wiring, breakers, PLCs, and calibration of safety devices, with a focus on safety compliance and timely, quality maintenance in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on electrical maintenance experience.
• Familiarity with protective relays, motor starters, and variable frequency drives.
• Knowledge of AC/DC motor control, PLC programming, and industrial automation.

Responsibilities

• Generates unplanned work orders to address equipment issues as they arise.
• Cover Shop Call and tap changes as they arise.
• Complete work orders and PMs assigned in timely manner.
• Maintain logs of inspections, repairs, and parts used.
• Assists Sr Technicians with projects.
• Work With Contractors as required to perform work orders and PMs.
• Receive contractors as they arrive on-site and present defined site safety requirements.
• Ensure work is in compliance with all site safety policies including lockout/tagout, Confined Space, Contractor safety, Arc Flash, High/Low Voltage safety.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including wiring, breakers, and PLCs.
• Replace defective components, rewire circuits, and install new equipment as needed.
• Ensure all work complies with electrical codes (NEC, IEC).
• Complies with all EHS rules required for the work environment.
• Test and calibrate instruments and safety devices such as circuit breakers, relays, fuses, respond to emergency outages and provide rapid on-site fixes to minimize downtime.
• Perform routine inspections of electrical equipment, motors, generators, and control panels.
• Use multimeters, clamp meters, and insulation resistance testers to diagnose faults.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
