Job summary

Amgen invites applications for an Associate Maintenance Technician (Electrical Apprentice) at our West Greenwich, Rhode Island site. You will assist licensed electricians with daily electrical work, and support power systems and safety-critical building systems in a manufacturing environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on experience, safety, and the pursuit of Rhode Island Class M Electrician license, with a shift from Admin 6:45A to 3:30P and potential later rotation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED is required.
• 2 years of electrical maintenance experience preferred.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Certification directly related to the role with 2 years of electrical maintenance experience preferred.
• 3+ years of combined education, training, and experience in industrial electrical operations and instrumentation/controls is desirable.
• Ability and desire to obtain Rhode Island Class M Electrician License.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Amgen Licensed Electricians on daily routine electrical work.
• Assist with operation and maintenance of backup power and UPS systems.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and assist with repair of electrical equipment and systems.
• Support operation and maintenance of Building Fire Alarm systems and related troubleshooting.
• Interpret and update loop sheets, electrical schematics, P&ID's, and wiring/panel drawings.
• Ensure activities are performed safely and in compliance with procedures.
• Identify waste, bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement, and assist with implementation.
