Responsibilities of the Electrical Maintenance Technician

The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of CWD's electrical/electronic equipment and computerized control process equipment. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical/electronic aptitude and skills to analyze and correct mechanical and electrical/electronic problems.

The technician will become fully knowledgeable about the physical components of the CWD system, including pumps, pump stations, lines, metering, valving, and control systems. The role also involves proactively identifying electrical problems and taking necessary steps to maintain system performance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Knowledge of water systems maintenance, repair, and construction practices.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and react promptly to unusual or non-routine situations.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the electrical/electronic field at a level equivalent to a licensed journeyman electrician.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a State of Vermont Journeyman Electrician’s license within a timeframe set by the District, and completion of all required National Electrical Code continuing education and recertification.
