Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Perform expert-level break-fix and preventive maintenance, including the design of mechanical and electrical equipment improvements and complex systems as required by the job specialty. Provide troubleshooting support on equipment and technical support on production lines.
2. Program, troubleshoot, and analyze complex control systems to resolve software/hardware and configuration issues.
3. Utilize predictive maintenance tools such as infrared thermography, ultrasonic testing, power quality analysis, laser interferometry, ball bar, and vibration analysis for equipment condition assessment and proactive maintenance.
4. Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities, focusing on processes, results, and cost savings using CI tools and methodologies.
5. Identify and source parts, supplies, and repair items; suggest alternatives and engineered solutions to enhance reliability.
6. Perform maintenance independently following industry standards.
7. Maintain compliance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
8. Set up and operate machining tools such as lathes, drill presses, grinders, and perform welding tasks as needed.
9. Research and implement technical and system innovations to improve maintenance practices, updating documentation accordingly.
10. Prepare cost analysis inputs for new equipment, repairs, rebuild proposals, and innovations.
11. Update and review CMMS records and analyze maintenance data.
12. Contribute technical content for sales quotations and perform time and material duties as required.
13. Train and mentor less experienced technicians; assume project management responsibilities when assigned.
14. Complete on-the-job training and pursue technical self-study for career development.
15. Adhere to all safety policies, rules, and regulations; identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Employees must frequently stand, walk, handle or feel objects, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and communicate. Occasionally, sitting and lifting over 50 pounds are required. Visual acuity and color vision are necessary. Exposure to weather, electrical hazards, noise, and potentially hazardous materials may occur in a factory environment.
