Job summary

Georgia-Pacific’s Mt. Jewett, PA facility seeks an Electrical Maintenance Technician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical equipment, PLCs, and VFDs, along with pneumatic/hydraulic systems.

You will read schematics, perform preventive maintenance, and work a 12‑hour rotating shift with overtime as needed; a trade‑school electrical/electronics degree and 2+ years of industrial electrical experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Two or more years of experience in industrial electrical work.
• Experience installing, examining, replacing, or repairing VFDs and motor controllers.
• Experience running conduit and installing electrical infrastructure to code.
• Experience using PLCs and reading ladder logic diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment and circuits.
• Maintain, program, and troubleshoot PLCs and VFDs.
• Maintain and troubleshoot circuits and components on pneumatic systems, control devices, and hydraulic equipment.
• Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics to troubleshoot and install equipment.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on electrical equipment.
• Complete a 3‑ to 6‑month training period; thereafter operate on a family‑friendly modified Dupont schedule.
• Work a 12‑hour rotating shift schedule (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM EST), 14 of every 18 days with alternate weekend work; overtime may be required.

Georgia‑Pacific’s Medium Density Fiberboard plant in Mt. Jewett, PA seeks an Electrical Maintenance Technician. The role supports plant production by installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical equipment, PLCs, VFDs, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment and circuits.
• Maintain, program, and troubleshoot PLCs and VFDs.
• Maintain and troubleshoot circuits and components on pneumatic systems, control devices, and hydraulic equipment.
• Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics to troubleshoot and install equipment.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on electrical equipment.
• Complete a 3‑ to 6‑month training period during the first months of employment; thereafter operate the EMT on a family‑friendly modified Dupont schedule.
• Work a 12‑hour rotating shift schedule (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM EST), 14 of every 18 days with alternate weekend work; overtime, holidays, and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a trade school degree in Electrical or Electronics field.
• Two or more years of experience in Industrial Electrical work.
• Experience installing, examining, replacing, or repairing Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and motor controllers.
• Experience running conduit and installing electrical infrastructure to code.
• Experience using Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and controls; wiring input/output cards and reading ladder logic diagrams.

Compensation & Benefits

Base pay is commensurate with experience, with the potential for a retention bonus after successful completion of a 90‑day probationary period and at one year of employment (paid as a percentage of earnings). Variable pay may be awarded as a monetary bonus based on performance metrics and production targets.
