Job summary

BlueScope Coated Products, LLC is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair production equipment. You will develop maintenance programs for reliability, lead cost optimization, and improve safety and uptime.

The role requires a Journeyman license with 5+ years in industrial electrical maintenance, strong PLC knowledge, and the ability to read blueprints. Expect 12‑hour shifts and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Journeyman licensed with 5+ years of experience in an industrial electrical maintenance position.
• PLC experience including Allen Bradley such as SLC 500, RSLogix 5/500/5000, PLC5, ControlLogix, Micrologix, and Panelview systems.
• Strong electrical knowledge (circuit breakers and fixtures).
• Demonstrated fault finding experience.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics.
• Proficient communication skills—ability to explain complex electrical issues.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding work for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical control systems for all manufacturing equipment.
• Perform routine, emergency, and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment/parts.
• Study equipment manuals to develop audit items and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Install or assist in installing new equipment with proper layout and alignment.
• Identify and present solutions to control problems and continuous improvement projects.
• Minimize downtime by promptly evaluating equipment malfunctions.
• Roll Grinder duties to support coating quality and paint line production.
• Communicate repair steps, parts ordered, and ETA to plant personnel.
