Job summary

Illinois Cement Company is seeking a Principal Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to lead the electrical maintenance team and coordinate routine and outage work across the plant, quarry, and terminal equipment. You will manage overtime, vacation scheduling, and documentation, while leveraging CMMS to track history, parts usage, and labor costs.

The role emphasizes PM program development, safety, and staff training to uphold reliable plant operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cement plant electrical maintenance experience.
• Experience with CMMS and work order management.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of PLCs, motors, transformers, and relay control systems.
• Supervisory experience with electrical personnel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule routine, daily and outage electrical maintenance work for the plant electricians.
• Manage weekly scheduling and daily overtime tracking for electricians.
• Oversee vacations and absenteeism, ensuring proper documentation.
• Evaluate work orders to determine priorities and allocate resources.
• Utilize CMMS to collect equipment history, parts usage, and labor and costs for electrical repairs.
• Develop and coordinate PM inspections with the Maintenance Planner; create PM checklists.
• Create work orders for repairs and schedule execution; review work orders after completion.
• Assist with developing shutdown schedules for major outages.
• Coordinate small plant projects to improve installation efficiency and minimize costs.
• Provide training for electricians on new equipment and techniques.
• Assess skill levels and arrange training to upgrade capabilities.
• Develop and document JSA's and safety meetings; enforce safety policies.
