Job summary

Novartis in Durham, NC seeks a Technician II, Maintenance & Reliability to keep critical manufacturing equipment safe, efficient, and reliable. The role involves hands-on maintenance, calibration, and continuous improvement within a highly regulated environment.

Required: state electrical license, high school diploma, 3–5 years in industrial electrical maintenance, PLC troubleshooting, and CMMS experience (SAP PM/Maximo). On-site, Mon-Fri shift; relocation not offered.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Technical degree, apprenticeship, or vocational training in Electrical Technology preferred.
Minimum 3–5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.
Experience with PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
Experience with building automation systems (BAS/BMS).
NFPA 70E, First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
Experience with CMMS software such as SAP PM, Maximo, or similar systems.

Responsibilities

Work knowledge of electrical systems up to 480V or higher.
Troubleshoot industrial controls, PLCs, and automation systems.
Read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
Follow arc flash safety, electrical safe work practices, and LOTO procedures.
Operate electrical testing equipment (multimeters, insulation testers, voltage detectors).
Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
