Job summary

Novartis in Durham, NC is hiring a Technician, Maintenance and Reliability to operate, maintain, and improve essential facility systems in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

You will join cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges, drive continuous improvement, and ensure safe, reliable operations on a 2/2/3 12-hour shift. Relocation support is not available; onsite presence is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, diploma, or technical certification in a related trade with two years of experience, or 2-4 years in maintenance/utilities/facilities.
• Experience in regulated industries such as pharmaceutical/biotech is preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and utility system issues independently.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain utility, facility, electrical, and HVAC systems across the site.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and utility system issues independently.
• Support startup, shutdown, commissioning, and qualification activities for critical facility systems.
• Lead initial alarm response and restore system functionality while maintaining operations.
• Identify reliability improvements and support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
