First Shift: 5:00am - 3:00pm Monday through Friday

Second Shift: 3:00pm - 1:00am Monday through Friday


PURPOSE:

To repair, maintain, and change over food packaging lines. To complete minor building maintenance and blending area equipment repair.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Communicates directly with the Plant Engineer to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas.
  2. Set priorities through the plant engineer for food packaging equipment rebuilds and preventive maintenance.
  3. Coordinates with the lead mechanic and coordinator to proactively schedule planned maintenance downtime.
  4. Provide feedback to the Plant engineer.
  5. Work complete monthly PM’s correctly and completely.
  6. Participate in the maintenance training.
  7. Utilize E-Maint to verify PM compliance, assign PM, and close out work orders.
  8. Disassembles, inspects, reassembles, troubleshoots, repairs, and replaces malfunctioning parts or equipment (motors, switches, sensors, input/output board, controllers, gears, sprockets, chains, knives, etc.) using test equipment and meters such as VOM, megger, amp probe, and PC.
  9. Comply with OSHA Safety and Health standards and requirements.
  10. Abide by plant GMPs and Safety Regulations.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  2. Vocational school a plus.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Industrial/ Manufacturing Experience.
  2. Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb balance; and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  3. Knowledge of mechanical equipment and an understanding of how machinery works.
  4. Ability to multitask and work according to deadlines.
  5. Handle confidential information appropriately.
  6. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and shop tools.
  7. Knowledge of and ability to use electrical meters and welding equipment.
  8. Prior experience in industrial mechanics or maintenance operations – preferred.
  9. Proficient knowledge required in the use of tablets.
  10. Maintenance tracking software is a plus.
  11. Efficiency tracking software is a plus.
  12. E-Maint Boot Camp is a plus.
  13. 90% of the day spent standing and walking.
