Energy Jobline ZR in Chester is seeking an Apprentice Trained Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing site. You will maintain electrical and mechanical systems, maximise machine efficiency, and work on both planned and reactive maintenance.

The role involves a blend of day-to-day engineering, collaboration with production teams, proactive safety observance, and ongoing training to broaden skills.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained electrical engineer with hands-on maintenance experience.
• Experience with PLCs and automated machinery in manufacturing.
• Understanding of preventive/predictive maintenance (PPM) in FMCG.

Responsibilities

• Work with production to minimise downtime and plan preventative maintenance.
• Collaborate within the engineering team to improve plant productivity and investigate faults.
• Perform repairs and record actions to prevent recurrence; maintain electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ensure availability of spare parts, materials and equipment.
• Investigate causes of breakdowns and damages.
• Be involved in proactive and reactive maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Promote health and safety on site.
• Take advantage of training to broaden skills.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of day-to-day engineering and maintenance activities ensuring work is carried out to the highest standards and maximizing machine efficiencies. The successful candidate will come from an electrical engineering background and should be able to work on their own initiative, be a time served engineer with either bias (but multi-skilled) and have fast moving manufacturing experience. On a day to day basis, you will.

• Work closely with the production team to ensure that machinery downtime is kept to a minimum and that all preventative maintenance is conducted in advance to avoid production disruption.
• Work collaboratively within the engineering team, providing support in investigating means of improving plant productivity and investigating and establishing causes for all breakdowns and damages.
• Action any repairs and ensure that all measures taken are recorded so recurrent faults can be recognised and you will be involved in electrical and mechanical proactive and re-active maintenance.
• Ensure that all necessary spare parts, materials, and equipment are available
