Job summary

Metallus in Canton, OH is offering a four-year Electrical Maintainer Apprenticeship at one of three Stark County steel facilities. You will perform maintenance tasks, learn on the job, and assist journeymen in electrical maintenance, with potential to become a full-time Electrical Maintainer after completing the program.

Starting wage is $33.40 per hour with increases after 1040 hours, top rate $37.30 plus a $2 trade premium.

Qualifications

• Troubleshoot electrical problems in the plant and take corrective action.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems.
• Ability to learn quickly, follow instructions and work safely with minimal direction.
• Ability to work well with others and also independently when required.

Responsibilities

• Receive and execute work assignments using drawings and sketches for diagnosis and repair of steel mill equipment.
• Utilize preventative/predictive maintenance techniques to maintain equipment reliability.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems and repair electrical/control logic systems.
• Operate cranes and heavy equipment and assist journeymen in maintenance tasks.
