Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Electrical Journeyman to provide skilled craftsmanship for maintenance and installation of electrical systems in our Jacksonville, FL project sites. The role focuses on safe, code-compliant work and reliable electrical performance. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of related experience, and relevant trade certification. The position offers strong teamwork, hands-on learning, and opportunities within a leading construction company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum two years of related experience.
• Trade or technical school certification/diploma.
• Apprentice aptitude test.
• Union specific training.
• Project specific/Mortenson training.
• Current driver’s license.
• Ability to speak and understand English (Spanish a plus); ability to read plans; operate electrical tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Test electrical systems and continuity for safety and compatibility.
• Install, repair, and maintain motors, transformers, and lights per codes.
• Study plans and work orders to determine requirements and sequencing.
• Repair electrical problems by replacing faulty parts.
• Maintain electrical systems by performing tests and preventive maintenance.
• Follow safety standards and procedures.
