Job summary

PCL Industrial Services, Inc. seeks an Electrical Journeyman in Pecos, Texas. The role involves installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems, with emphasis on safety and code compliance.

You will read electrical drawings and support startup/commissioning tasks; a 6/10 schedule (Mon-Sat, 10 hrs) and $42/hour with $200 per diem for eligible travelers are offered. Applicants should have completed an apprenticeship and bring strong problem-solving and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Completion of an apprenticeship program, including classroom and on-the-job training.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings.
• Knowledge of NFPA70E and NEC safety standards.
• Experience with industrial or commercial electrical work is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Install conduits including bending, cutting and threading up to 4-inch diameter rigid steel.
• Install and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures.
• Replace conduit, wiring, and circuit breakers as needed.
• Read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings.
• Startup and commissioning experience is an asset.

Job Overview

The Electrician position involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures while ensuring compliance with relevant codes and safety standards. Responsibilities may also include the installation of electrical control systems and manual labor tasks related to electrical work. Additionally, the Electrician will be required to complete necessary reports and forms related to safety and project progress.

Position available in Pecos, Texas

Compensation

$42 / hour

Schedule

Monday–Saturday: 10 hours per day (6/10 schedule).

Per diem: For eligible travelers

a per diem of $200 per day worked is available.

Job Functions:

• Installing conduits including bending, cutting and threading up to 4-inch diameter rigid steel
• Installing and repairing electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures.
• Replacing conduit, wiring, and circuit breakers as needed.
• Installing conductors, terminating (SES, panel boards, motor controls, PLC’s, instruments, and junction boxes).
• Have the ability to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings.
• Start up and commissioning experience is an asset but not required.
• Have a basic understanding of NFPA70E and the NEC.
• Ensuring all electrical systems comply with safety regulations and codes.

Qualifications:

• Technical Proficiency: Extensive knowledge of electrical components and systems.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and repair electrical issues.
• Attention to Detail: Ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.
• Training: Completion of an apprenticeship program, which includes both classroom instruction and on-the-job training.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions and challenging terrains typical of construction sites.
• Experience with industrial or commercial electrical work is a plus.
