Job summary

nVent is seeking skilled electricians to join our industrial maintenance team in Hitchcock, TX. You will install, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems, read blueprints, and ensure NEC compliance while maintaining safety standards.

With at least 3 years of industrial experience and a valid electrician license preferred, you’ll mentor others on the shift and contribute to a safe, reliable power infrastructure across our global operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Vocational/technical degree in electrical technology or equivalent hands‑on experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of industrial or commercial electrical experience.
  • Master or Journeyman Electrician License preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Experience with MCCs, substations and VFDs.

Responsibilities

  • Install, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment.
  • Install wireways, conduits, and cable trays per NEC and specs.
  • Read blueprints and schematics to guide wiring.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
  • Mentor and train junior employees on the shift.
  • Promote a safe, compliant work environment.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
  • Install, test, and troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems, circuits, and equipment
  • Install wireways, conduits, and cable trays in accordance with NEC standards and customer specifications
  • Perform utility wire connections and demonstrate a strong understanding of electrical circuits
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and layout drawings
  • Thread conduit and fabricate raceway systems as required
  • Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in safe, working condition
  • Train and mentor employees on your assigned shift
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
  • Promote a safe workplace by adhering to safety protocols and participating in safety meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
YOU HAVE:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Vocational or technical degree in electrical technology, or equivalent hands‑on experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial or commercial electrical experience
  • Master or Journeyman Electrician License preferred
  • Solid knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
