Job summary

nVent is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Houston to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair production machinery and building systems. Candidates should have two years of maintenance experience, basic tools, and the ability to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with basic hand and power tools, machine tools and precision measuring equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, modification, and repair of production machinery and equipment as well as interior and exterior building/facilities equipment such as air compressors, HVAC units, lighting/fans and facilities restrooms.
  • Perform basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair as required.
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering with process or equipment improvements.
  • Communicate effectively with Tool and Die, Engineering, Supervisors and outside vendors regarding projects and repair problems.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

  • Experience with computer skills basic hand and power tools, machine tools and precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to multi-task and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment to meet objectives within required timeframes.
  • Ability to fabricate, weld, or machine parts as the need arises is helpful.
  • Ability to work overtime regularly and with minimal notice to meet business needs.
