Job summary

nVent, a global leader in electrical solutions, is seeking skilled electrical technicians to join our team in Texas. The role focuses on installation, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems in industrial environments, with NEC compliance, blueprints, and safety at the forefront.

You will work with MCCs, substation switchgear, and VFDs, reading schematics and wiring diagrams while mentoring fellow technicians and ensuring safe, efficient operations on site in Hitchcock, TX.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Vocational or technical degree in electrical technology or related hands-on training.
  • Minimum 3 years of industrial or commercial electrical experience; journeyman/master license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems, circuits, and equipment.
  • Install wireways, conduits, and cable trays per NEC and specs.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and layout drawings; read wiring diagrams.
  • Thread conduit and fabricate raceway systems as required.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
  • Train and mentor employees on your shift.
  • Ensure work areas are clean and comply with safety standards.
  • Promote safety and participate in safety meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
  • Install, test, and troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems, circuits, and equipment
  • Install wireways, conduits, and cable trays in accordance with NEC standards and customer specifications
  • Perform utility wire connections and demonstrate a strong understanding of electrical circuits
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and layout drawings
  • Thread conduit and fabricate raceway systems as required
  • Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in safe, working condition
  • Train and mentor employees on your assigned shift
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
  • Promote a safe workplace by adhering to safety protocols and participating in safety meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
YOU HAVE:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Vocational or technical degree in electrical technology, or equivalent hands‑on experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial or commercial electrical experience
  • Master or Journeyman Electrician License preferred
  • Solid knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Experience working with commercial and industrial equipment, including:
    • Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
    • Substation switchgear
    • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
