Job summary

Buro Happold seeks an Electrical Intern in Chicago for Summer 2027. The role involves assisting with electrical engineering building services, designing with BIM tools, and contributing to sustainable projects under supervision.

Candidates should be pursuing electrical or architectural engineering degrees, with BIM software familiarity and interest in the built environment. The internship offers exposure to a global network and development opportunities.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
Coursework in electrical power systems design, control systems, and/or building systems design.
Familiarity with BIM modeling software such as Revit and AutoCAD.
Internship experience at an engineering-related firm preferred.

Responsibilities

Using Revit, prepare technical drawings, schedules, and reports.
Analyze load to determine system sizing, and assign circuitry for power and lighting devices.
Undertake electrical engineering building services design and calculations using Design Master and SKM.
Embrace the latest technologies to improve performance and sustainability.
