Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Naheola Mill in Pennington, AL is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician. The role supports electrical/control systems, PLCs, and machinery maintenance at a major consumer products site. You will work under a collective bargaining agreement and contribute to reliability efforts and safety standards.

The position emphasizes day-to-day operation, troubleshooting, and collaboration with a skilled team to keep production running smoothly and safely.

Qualifications

Three years or more experience as Journeyman Electrical and Instrumentation Technician in an industrial setting.
Documentation of journeyman status or a two-year degree in Electrical/Instrumentation Technology.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Manufacturing preferred.
Experience with CMMS and mechanical maintenance is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Ensure proper operation of electrical/control system components including motors, PLC IO, sensors.
Share knowledge with technicians for troubleshooting PLCs, instrumentation and controls.
Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs for manufacturing machinery.
Apply codes, reliability strategies, OEM standards, and plant procedures.
Improve productivity by planning labor, parts, and tools to avoid delays.
Assist in developing and implementing reliability-centered maintenance strategies.
