Electrical/Instrumentation Technician (Finance)

Ashland has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical/Instrumentation Technician to join our Specialty Ingredients G.P. business at our Parlin, NJ location. This is a highly visible, significant role within the company and the Plant Operations function. The position reports to the Reliability Supervisor.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Collaborate with the Reliability Supervisor and Maintenance team to establish and meet goals.
2. Install, test, calibrate, maintain, plan, and repair process measurement instrumentation such as flow, level, pressure, temperature, and pH measurement devices.
3. Install, test, calibrate, maintain, plan, and repair process automation systems, including Emerson Delta V Data Acquisition System (DAS), valve positioners, actuators, solenoids, etc.
4. Plan, troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical wiring circuits (24VDC to 480VAC), generators, transformers, motors, protective devices, switches, control devices, alarm systems, and lighting.
5. Install new equipment within Class I Division I, II environments, and intrinsically safe work areas.
6. Work with engineering to specify or recommend equipment and process improvements related to safety, control, and data acquisition systems.
7. Work hours are Monday to Friday during the day, with occasional emergency response and overtime as needed.
8. Participate in an on-call rotation every 4 weeks.
9. Complete paperwork for work orders and equipment reliability tracking.

Minimum qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least four (4) years of industrial experience in instrumentation and control systems maintenance and repair.
• Ability to read electrical and instrumentation drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
• Willingness to work in a union environment.
• Relevant military experience is considered.
