Job summary

PTS Advance seeks an Instrumentation & Electrical Project Manager to oversee Lake Charles-area capital projects with a strong focus on instrumentation and electrical systems for oil and gas or petrochemical operations. Responsibilities include planning, FEL, contracting, cost control, safety, and stakeholder communications.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Engineering and 10+ years of project management experience, with at least 5 years in solo project accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering.
• 10+ years of project management experience in oil & gas or petrochemical.
• 5+ years PM with sole accountability for the project.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Project Execution Plan preparation and implementation
• Lead FEL process, gate reviews, and approvals
• Drive contracting strategy, evaluate contractors, and manage bids and awards
• Manage cost, schedule, procurement and payables
• Interview and approve contractor personnel
• Manage contracts and contractors to maximize performance, control costs and minimize change orders
• Set up project facilities on-site and at contractors' offices
• Set safety expectations and lead the team to meet goals
• Engage operations and maintenance and clarify responsibilities
• Issue and review schedules to drive performance
• Ensure cost estimates and monthly cash flow forecasts accuracy
• Set up vendor/fabricator programs for specialty contractors
• Ensure adherence to quality processes
• Develop and manage project KPIs and metrics
• Lead risk management planning
• Prepare and present to stakeholders
• Close out project timely and efficiently

Emphasis on Instrumentation and Electrical capital projects (small to mid-size projects)

• Overseeing the preparation and implementation of the Project Execution Plan
• Leading the FEL process, completing gate reviews, and obtaining management approvals
• Leading the Contracting Strategy effort, managing the contractor evaluation, bid and award process
• Managing cost, schedule, procurement and the billing payables groups
• Interviewing and approving personnel from the contractor's organization
• Understanding contracts and managing contractors to maximize performance, controlling costs and minimizing claims and change orders
• Setting up project facilities at site and in the contractors office
• Setting safety expectations for the project and leading the team to achieve safety goals
• Ensuring plant Operations and Maintenance personal are engaged and that they understand their responsibilities
• Ensuring that proper schedules are issued, reviewed, and used to drive Project performance
• Ensuring the accuracy of the cost estimate as well as monthly cash flow forecasts
• Setting up programs to manage vendors, fabricators and any required specialty contractors
• Ensuring that quality processes are followed
• Developing, gaining approval for and managing to project KPI's and metrics
• Leading development of a risk management plan
• Preparing and giving presentations to various levels of the Company and other stakeholders
• Timely and efficiently closing out of the project

Position Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering

• 10 or more years of project management experience working in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry
• 5 or more years of experience working as a Project Manager with sole accountability for the project
