Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is seeking an Electrical/Instrumentation Engineer I to assist in routine design under close supervision. You will contribute to electrical layouts, wiring plans, and grounding design while developing familiarity with project scope, standards, and startup support.

Ideal candidates hold a BS/MS in Electrical Engineering with 1 year of relevant experience, and are proficient in AutoCAD or Microstation, plus Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and application of NEC requirements.
• Familiarity with engineering design and CAD drafting standards.
• Able to perform lighting level calculations.
• Able to size wire, conduit and overcurrent protection for lighting and power.
• Capable of voltage drop calculations.
• Able to route conduit and cable tray.
• Able to calculate tray and conduit fill.
• Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD or Microstation).
• Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; strong presentation skills.
• Virtual team collaboration across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine electrical/instrumentation design under supervision.
• Produce installation details, single lines, layouts and grounding plans.
• Assist in startup activities onsite.
• Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies for efficient solutions.
• Create preliminary designs and material take-offs for estimates.
• Prepare detailed design calculations and drawings for construction.
