Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation in Garyville, LA seeks a project management professional to provide Electrical & Instrument technical engineering services for refinery operations. You will oversee capital and expense projects from development to start-up, coordinating with designers and consultants to ensure cost-effective, compliant deliverables.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Engineering (Electrical preferred), 2+ years (5+ preferred) of industry experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required; Electrical degree preferred.
• Two or more years of industry experience required; five+ years preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience with process measurement and control, instrument equipment, SIS design, electrical area classification, and MOC processes is expected.

Responsibilities

• Apply project management skills across all phases: development, justification, design, construction, start-up.
• Manage multiple projects/programs safely, within budget, and meet schedules.
• Ensure compliance with MOC, PSI, and mechanical integrity documentation.
• Coordinate project work with in-house designers and outside consultants to complete projects cost-effectively.
• Develop scopes, cost estimates, and schedules; prepare DSPs for small capital and expense projects.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Construction, and Turnaround teams to support planning and execution.
• Develop and review construction packages to meet MPC codes and standards.
• Specify Electrical & Instrument engineered materials for assigned projects.
• Interact with project stakeholders throughout lifecycle; provide E&I support on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Promote safety and escalate unsafe practices; participate in HAZOP/LOPA reviews.
