Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Electrical Installer in Edison, NJ, to install, program, test, repair, and service security, fire alarm, and life safety systems with minimal guidance.

You will work closely with customers and internal colleagues, providing technical installation support and training while progressing through the trade program and advancing your career within Convergint.

Qualifications

• Experience installing and wiring access control, network cameras, door hardware, panel installation & wiring, and programming of door and camera additions.
• Solid Construction Skills and understanding of system plans.
• Solid understanding of blueprints, design drawings including wiring and labeling methods, system wiring, wiring methods, cut sheets, wiring schematics, and cable support installation (J-Hook, Raceway, Conduit, Cable Support).
• Very familiar with basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures unassisted, may require assistance with more complex specifications.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, test, repairs, and service a variety of systems and equipment which may include security, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation with minimal guidance as needed.
• Work closely with customers and internal colleagues in providing technical installation support and training. May assist or train less experienced Electrical Installers.
• Interpret manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and repairs equipment, utilizing knowledge of electronics and using standard test instruments and hand tools.
• Provide basic installation assistance as directed by project lead.
• Act as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint Technologies is the customer’s first choice for service.
