Job summary

University of Hawaiʻi Community College system seeks a full-time Instructor for Electrical Installation & Maintenance Technology in Honolulu. The instructor will teach courses on residential and commercial wiring, motors, electronics, and PLCs, and contribute to program development.

The role supports curriculum design, student assessment, advising, and service activities within the Transportation & Trades division. Evening or weekend duties may be required.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electricity / Electrical Installation and Maintenance Technology.
  • 15 college credits in Electricity / Electrical Installation and Maintenance Technology plus 7 years (including training) of related work experience with a current journey worker license.

Responsibilities

  • Teach electrical courses related to installation and maintenance of residential and commercial wiring, motors and motor controls, basic electronics, and programmable logic controllers.
  • Assist in development and delivery of new and existing electrical installation & maintenance technology courses and related services for credit or noncredit as applicable.
  • Prepare course syllabi, conduct assessments, evaluate students, and revise instructional methods to meet diverse student needs.
