Job summary

Epcon is seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector for a 12-week project in Midkiff, Texas, to ensure NEC compliance and conformance with project specs and client standards on an oil and gas site.

You will inspect conduit, cable trays, wiring and grounding, lighting and power distribution equipment; witness tests and document results; review as‑builts; and coordinate with contractors, the construction manager, and client representatives while maintaining strict safety practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical inspection experience on oil and gas or industrial projects.
• Strong NEC knowledge and hazardous location experience.
• Ability to read one-lines, schematics, and cable schedules.
• Experience with testing documentation and data recording.
• OSHA 10 certification; OSHA 30 preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass drug screen and background check.
• Proficient with tablets and electronic reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Inspect electrical installations for NEC compliance and project specs.
• Verify conduit, cable tray, grounding, lighting, and power distribution.
• Inspect hazardous area installations including seals, fittings, and explosion-proof equipment.
• Witness insulation resistance, continuity, and loop checks.
• Review redlines, as-builts, and cable termination schedules.
• Verify MCCs, switchgear, transformers, and instrumentation termination.
• Identify non-conformances and issue punch lists to close out.
• Complete daily inspection reports, test records, and turnover docs.
• Coordinate with contractor, construction manager, and client reps on schedule, quality, safety.
• Enforce safety requirements, LOTO and permit-to-work; stop work if unsafe.
• Support pre-commissioning and energization activities.
