Job summary

The City of Fort Worth is seeking an Electrical Inspection Specialist in the Development Services Inspections Division. The role focuses on electrical inspections for complex projects, coordinating with developers, and ensuring energy code compliance.

Minimum qualifications include a Texas electrical license and related inspector certifications, with a requirement to obtain ICC Energy Inspector credentials within six months. Excellent driving record and state licensure are necessary.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED with specialized training in building construction or related field.
• Four years of experience in building inspection and/or construction related field.
• State of Texas Journeyman Electrician License or State of Texas Master Electrician License
• ICC Commercial Energy Inspector or the Residential Energy Inspector/Plan Reviewer certification are required within six (6) months of employment
• Valid Texas driver’s license.
• Extensive inspection experience.

Responsibilities

• Performing electrical inspections to verify compliance with the adopted codes on the more complex projects within the City of Fort Worth
• Attend construction and pre-construction meetings with developers and permit holders
• Hands-on inspection training in the field with inspectors covering aspects of electrical installations and energy compliance
• Assisting with less complicated inspections when assistance is needed by other inspectors
