Job summary
The City of Fort Worth Development Services Inspections Division is seeking an Electrical Inspection Specialist to perform electrical inspections and verify compliance with adopted codes on complex projects. The role requires licensed electricians and inspects a range of commercial and residential work.
Qualifications include a Texas Journeyman or Master Electrician license and an ICC energy inspector certification within six months.
Qualifications
- HS Diploma/GED supplemented by specialized training in building construction or a related field.
- Four (4) years of experience in building inspection and/or construction related field.
- State of Texas Journeyman Electrician License or State of Texas Master Electrician License
- ICC Commercial Energy Inspector or Residential Energy Inspector/Plan Reviewer certification within 6 months of employment
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical inspections to verify compliance with the adopted codes on the more complex projects within the City of Fort Worth
- Attend construction and pre-construction meetings with developers and permit holders
- Hands-on inspection training in the field with inspectors covering aspects of electrical installations and energy compliance
- Assisting with less complicated inspections when assistance is needed by other inspectors
