Job summary

Chaves County is seeking an Electrical Inspector to review plans, issue permits, and perform on-site electrical inspections across its unincorporated areas including Dexter, Hagerman and Lake Arthur. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED with foreman experience, plus NM inspector certifications and the ability to work independently with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 3 years foreman experience within last 10 years.
• Technical, university or college training in electrical construction may substitute up to 2 years of foreman experience.
• Applicant must demonstrate at least 1 year of related field experience in foreman level position.

Responsibilities

• Review electrical construction plans for compliance with NM electrical codes and County regulations.
• Conduct electrical inspections at various stages of construction.
• Maintain departmental filing system and records.
• Enforce County planning and zoning ordinances.
• Attend trainings and meetings as required.
