New York City Department of Transportation seeks an Administrative Inspector (Electrical) to manage a citywide team of Electrical Inspectors for a major APS-ready upgrade of traffic intersections. The role requires reviewing reports, prioritizing field work, and coordinating with city agencies to relocate components on signal and street lighting poles.

The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership, extensive electrical experience, and familiarity with project management.

Qualifications

• Seven years of full-time experience in electrical installations or inspection, with supervisory responsibility.
• Alternate pathways include five years with certain educational credits or two years of additional qualifications as described in the notice.
• Licensure as a professional engineer or registered architect with related supervisory experience.

Responsabilités

• Supervise a citywide team of Electrical Inspectors for a large scale inspection program.
• Conduct layouts and surveys for thousands of traffic intersections and coordinate with other agencies.
• Review contractor progress reports and inspector field reports; set priorities for inspectors.
• Monitor use of equipment and contractor inventory; ensure approved materials are used.
• Step in to manage borough operations in the absence of senior inspectors.
• Coordinate and inspect attachments by authorized users of department equipment.
