Job summary

Graywolf Integrated Construction Company in Conyers, GA seeks a Journeyman Electrician for a heavy industrial/commercial project site. The role involves planning, wiring installation, and supervising Electrician Helpers to ensure safe, compliant electrical systems.

Qualified candidates have at least four years of field experience, a state electrical license if required, welding certification, and their own toolbox. Pre-hire requirements apply; position is full-time and on-site at Conyers.

Qualifications

• Maintain a current State Electrical license where required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lays out, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and controls equipment.

• Read P&ID/Blue Print Reading and apply to work.
• Identify conduit, hardware and cable trays; install and connect wiring.
• Measure, cut, thread conduit; pull cable and wire conduit.
• Install ground lugs and lugs on large cables; identify meters and instruments.
• Follow National Electric Code and safety procedures.

Summary:

The Journeyman Electrician plans, lays out , installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and controls equipment, as well as directing and training Electrician Helpers to do the same.

• Electrical Safety – work safely around the hazards associated with electricity. Select the proper applications for different types of voltages (i.e. 24, 120,240,480,600,12,800 61kv
• Electrician Tools – use hand, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic tools in a safe manner.
• P&ID / Blue Print Reading – Correctly reads and understands plans, isometrics, arrangement drawings, details, specifications, erection manuals and/or blue prints and makes competent decisions based on measurable criteria.
• Working knowledge of National Electric Code
• Have sound knowledge of, understand and use Lock- out tag -out procedures
• Identify conduit and hardware
• Measure, cut and thread conduit
• Pull cable and wire conduit
• Identify cable tray and hardware
• Fabricate and install hangars and brackets
• Mount junction boxes
• Figure, cut and install cable tray with offsets
• Perform cad weld grinding
• Figure offsets, bend and install conduit
• Identify types and sizes of wire, cable insulation and color code of multi-conductor
• Identify electrical meters and instruments
• Install ground lugs
• Install lugs on 4/0 and larger cable
• Other duties by trade and assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

• Four (4) years minimum heavy industrial field experience as an Electrician.

• Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.

Physical/Site Requirements:

• Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
• Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age.
• Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
• PPE footwear/prescription safety glasses or eye shields required.
