Job summary

Graywolf Integrated Construction Company is seeking an Electrical Helper at our Cameron, LA project site. The role supports electrical teams in field installation, conduit fabrication, and wiring tasks on heavy industrial projects.

You will follow safety protocols and lock-out/tag-out procedures and read drawings to assist journeymen. Candidates must have at least two years of heavy industrial field experience, own a toolbox, and be able to pass pre-hire requirements.

Qualifications

• Two years minimum heavy industrial field experience as an Electrical Helper.
• Must have a locking toolbox and tools to perform the job.
• Must be able to successfully complete all pre-hire requirements.

Responsibilities

• Electrical safety: work safely around electrical hazards and apply correct voltages.
• Read and interpret P&ID, drawings, and blueprints to guide work.
• Work with National Electric Code requirements on site.
• Use hand, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic tools safely.
• Identify conduit, hardware, and cable tray; install as directed.
• Measure, cut and thread conduit; pull cable and wire conduit.
• Fabricate and install hangars, brackets and junction boxes; mount equipment.

Graywolf is seeking Electrical Helper at our Cameron, LA project site

Essential Duties:

• Electrical Safety – work safely around the hazards associated with electricity. Select the proper applications for different types of voltages (i.e. 24, 120,240,480,600,12,800 61kv
• Electrician Tools – use hand, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic tools in a safe manner.
• P&ID / Blue Print Reading – Correctly reads and understands plans, isometrics, arrangement drawings, details, specifications, erection manuals and/or blue prints and makes competent decisions based on measurable criteria.
• Working knowledge of National Electric Code
• Have sound knowledge of, understand and use Lock- out tag -out procedures
• Identify conduit and hardware
• Measure, cut and thread conduit
• Pull cable and wire conduit
• Identify cable tray and hardware
• Fabricate and install hangars and brackets
• Mount junction boxes
• Figure, cut and install cable tray with offsets
• Perform cad weld grinding
• Figure offsets, bend and install conduit
• Identify types and sizes of wire, cable insulation and color code of multi-conductor
• Identify electrical meters and instruments
• Install ground lugs
• Install lugs on 4/0 and larger cable
• Read wire/cable schedules
• Other duties by trade and assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

• Four (2) years minimum heavy industrial field experience as an Electrical Helper.
• Must have locking toolbox and tools necessary to perform the job.
• Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.

Physical/Site Requirements:

• Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
• Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age.
• Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
• PPE footwear/prescription safety glasses or eye shields required.
