Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or foreign equivalent.
• 2–5 years of related experience.
• Experience with CAN, RS-485, RS-232, SPI, I2C, USB and Ethernet interfaces.
• Experience with FCC/CE testing of electronics equipment.
• Schematic capture and PCB layout experience, preferably Mentor Graphics.
• Ability to create schematics from requirements and guide PCB designers.
• Travel: up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Write specifications for Printed Wiring Boards (PWB) to meet top level requirements of the Thermal Product Offering group.
• Create system level architectures for distributed microprocessor-based sensors and controls.
• Create hardware test plans for design verification and factory verification of PWB.
• Create requirements documents to enable factory test verification of PWB.
• Manage vendors in creating factory test verification equipment and deploy equipment to contract manufacturers.
• Evaluate EMC risk in PWB and mitigate risk in designs.
• Troubleshoot EMC test failures and implement corrective actions.
• Recommend requirements for future designs to prevent warranty issues.
• Test alternate parts and assess risk of changes to older designs.
