Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. in Towson, MD, is seeking an Engineer III, Electrical Hardware for a hybrid role three days in the office.

You will drive wireless hardware development for professional tools, collaborating with cross-functional teams through concept to manufacturing and product support. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of electronics design experience, strong analog/digital design skills, and hands-on testing with lab equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering is required.
• 3-5 years of electronics design experience in a relevant industry.
• Familiar with analog hardware design and troubleshooting, DFMEA, tolerance stack up, and failure analysis.
• Digital design experience including microcontroller selection, digital communication protocols, and power budget calculations.
• Board-level bring-up and troubleshooting with oscilloscope, probes, DMM, spectrum analyzer, VNA.
• Good communication skills and ability to self-prioritize tasks.
• Schematic capture and PCB design experience using Altium Designer is a plus.
• Circuit simulation with LTSpice or similar is a plus.
• Ability to travel globally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Implement wireless connectivity hardware for professional power tool products.
• Learn product milestones from concept through design, mass manufacturing, and life cycle support.
• Work with cross-functional teams to design new products and platforms and improve production techniques.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, schematics, and reports.
• Build and test prototypes with technicians to prove out designs.
• Identify and communicate major technical and schedule issues to leaders clearly and timely.
