Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems is seeking an Electrical Hardware Design Engineering Intern for summer 2027 in Huntsville, AL. This role involves PCBAs, power supply, mixed-signal, FPGA, microcontroller designs, and hands-on learning under a mentor.

The intern will assist in design, simulation, and testing of hardware, using tools like Mentor Graphics and Altium, and will gain experience in hardware verification and debugging with oscilloscopes and signal generators.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university and pursuing EE or a related field.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Includes resume and unofficial transcripts in application.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
• Able to work onsite in Huntsville, AL during summer 2027.
• Basic understanding of circuit theory and design.
• Exposure to at least one programming language (Python, MATLAB, or C/C++).

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, simulation, modeling and testing of hardware solutions.
• Work with design tools such as Mentor Graphics, Altium for PCB design, SPICE, and Visio.
• Develop and execute hardware verification plans.
• Debug hardware using test equipment such as oscilloscopes and signal generators.
• Collaborate with team members on hardware projects.
