A leading company in electrical engineering is seeking an Electrical Hardware Design Engineer for a contract to hire position in Scottsdale, AZ. The role involves designing advanced electronic hardware and developing 3U VPX modules to enhance mission-critical systems. Electrical Hardware Design Engineer

76.00-$80.00 per hour

Siemens Xpedition , which is a key requirement for this role

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES :

We are seeking a CL - Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to join our cross-disciplinary team responsible for designing advanced electronic hardware. You will play a pivotal role in developing new 3U VPX modules that enhance the capabilities and cyber-resilience of mission-critical systems.

You will engage in all program phases, including requirements analysis, schematic capture, routing constraints definition, PCB / PWB routing oversight, and support for manufacturing, integration, testing, and qualification.

We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences : use of lab test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment, experience designing PCBs / PWBs using Siemens Xpedition, and knowledge of VITA / VPX standards including VITA 46 and 65.

  • An understanding of the hardware development process throughout the lifecycle of a program, including design for manufacturing and design for test.

  • Experience designing PCBs / PWBs, including using advanced materials, packaging techniques, and high-speed interfaces (10G+ Ethernet, PCIe Gen 4+, etc.)
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills, breaking down complex technical problems logically and finding efficient solutions.
  • Cross-disciplinary communication skills, working effectively with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.
  • Team collaboration, offering and receiving feedback constructively.

Workplace Options :

This position is fully on-site or Hybrid / Flex. Some program assignments will require a 100% on-site presence.

While on-site, you will be a part of our Scottsdale, Arizona facility.

Job Requirements

Required Skills :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics.
  • Minimum 5 year of experience in lab test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment, designing PCBs / PWBs using Siemens Xpedition.
  • Minimum 5 year of experience in VITA / VPX standards including VITA 46 and 65.

Preferred Skills :

  • Master's Degree
  • Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other lab test equipment.
  • Experience designing PCBs / PWBs, including using advanced materials, packaging techniques, and high-speed interfaces (10 G+ Ethernet, PCIe Gen 4+)
  • An understanding of the hardware development process throughout the lifecycle of a program, including design for manufacturing and design for test.
  • Knowledge of Siemens Xpedition for schematic entry, constraint definition, and signal integrity / power integrity analysis.
